As a nationally-recognized Fitness Expert, Health Coach, and Author, Nathan has dedicated his life to helping others. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 2008 after being deployed to Baghdad, Iraq as an Army SNIPER Team Leader.

Hi, I'm Nathan...

Thanks for flipping my card! I was born during a blizzard in a small town in the remote Australian blue mountains. I came to the US when I was 3, towing along my favorite stuffed animal and a funny accent. I grew up traveling summers through Europe with my mom as she worked as a costume designer and artist. I gained my love of learning from my dad, a writer and teacher. I didn’t like school, preferring my own books, and absolutely despised high school. As soon as I was able, at 18, I fled to the Army where I learned two things: 1) personal discipline, and 2) that I didn’t like authority. So... the military was tough at first, and I was demoted several times for insubordination. Eventually I found my footing and led a Sniper team into combat in Baghdad, Iraq. In 2008 I was honorably discharged, and started my career as an athlete, nutrition and fitness coach, and health educator. I’ve worked with thousands of clients, and in 2012 opened my first gym. In 2016 I created the Level Method to solve the problems that I see within the fitness world. I love what I do, and I want to thank you so much for reading my card.

Craig Truglio, Coach & Rehabilitation Specialist

After a multi-year career as a professional Motocross racer, Craig received his Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. He went on to pass the intensive NATA Board of Certification (BOC) exam in 2009, and has a total of over 15,000 hours of "in the field" and clinical experience.

Hi, I'm Craig...

Thanks for flipping my card! I am the husband to my beautiful wife Shalina, and father to my son Liam. I started my fitness journey years ago as a professional motocross racer. This required a very high level of fitness and lots of time spent in injury rehabilitation. That led me to become very interested in these fields. When I started my career as an Athletic Trainer in 2009, I had no idea where life would take me, and it's been an incredible adventure. I try to spend as much time with my family as possible and faith is a large part of our lives. I've been working with the Level Method Gym team since 2013 and I love being able to give back and share my expertise with all of our clients and members. We have many folks that come to us injured from other activities, and I’m happy to offer advice or help. I'm very quiet and reserved, probably made worse due to the years of racing and dealing with emergency situations in Athletic Training, both which it is necessary to at least appear calm and in control no matter what situation comes up. I've always been an introvert, so if I seem quiet, it's not you 🙂 I look forward to meeting you.

Lauren Maloney, Coach & Event Planning Manager

After studying ballet at the Royal Academy of Dance in London, Lauren came back to the States and double majored in Political Science and International Studies. She was then hired as a Store Operations Lead for a company with over 500M in annual sales, Tilly's, headquartered in Irvine, CA.

Hi, I’m Lauren…

I was born in Hong Kong, and lived in England during my early years where I studied Ballet. The experience of living in a different country and being immersed in a different culture gave me unique insight into how people work. My family is originally from New Jersey, but I moved to California in 2005 when I was given the opportunity to go to the Fashion Institute of Design and I've lived in Orange ever since. After working in that field, I went back to school to get my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science / International Business. I became part of the Level Method community in 2014, and have been working out and focusing on my health, wellness and fitness since 2009, and coaching since 2012. I love the Arts. I love Fragrance… and I love Health and Wellness! When I’m not in the gym, I can be found working out, doing makeup for special events, practicing (or teaching) Pilates, or continuing to pursue my ballet studies.I’ve been known to break out in dance during the middle of a workout if the right song comes on! Life’s too short! I look forward to meeting you!

Hi, I'm Alex...

I'm so glad you are visiting our site and learning more about who we are! I started working out in 2011 after signing up for 6 months of classes at a gym in Newport Beach. Growing up, I did not play sports, had no interest in working out, and didn’t care about becoming fit. I preferred drawing fashion figures, collecting silk scarves, designing bikinis, reading interior design magazines and painting my nails (some of these things will never fade haha!) My family never skips a chance to remind me that I was least likely to get into fitness! "You had such a Lazy Body - and now look at you!” Fitness became a burning desire to compete and become my best. I fell in love with fitness because of the community. Early on I developed a passion for encouraging people, and adopted the theme for myself: to live by setting an example. The life-changing power of becoming aware of health and our capabilities saved me from a destructive path. I knew early on that our bodies are designed to move, play, dance, and that we were meant to laugh and sweat even in our busy adult lives. It is never easy to start something alone, but you won’t be starting alone. My specific passions related to coaching are nurturing the strong female community, understanding my client's needs and wants, studying Sport Psychology, Human Behavior, and practicing visualization and meditation.

Brian Caldwell, Coach & Digital Media Manager

As the resident 'wiz kid,' Brian is a Finance Major and the youngest member of our team. He's established himself as a powerful athlete, and an expert coach too, having finished our grueling Instructor Training Program (ITP) in record time.

Hi, I’m Brian...

Thanks for flipping my card! I started my fitness journey playing football in high school. I played hard, and I worked out hard, but didn’t have the right guidance so I suffered several injuries that had to be repaired with surgery. While recovering, I ballooned up to nearly 300lbs and felt utterly horrible. That’s when I was introduced to Level Method Gym (formerly Next Level CrossFit) and it was a blessing for me. After several years of ‘dabbling,’ I became fully committed to my training after watching a local competition. I knew right then and there that it was what I wanted to do. I started training hard and studying everything I could get my hands on. Then I started coaching, and teaching what I learned to everyone I knew! I’ve become obsessed with fitness, and now I’m down 80lbs (and gained muscle) and walk around under 10% body fat year-round! I’m currently training full-time as an athlete, and a coach. My passion, besides getting fit, is to “pay it forward” and guide members and clients on their journey, just as I was guided by Alex and Nathan when I started.

Meelo "Nonie" McStretchy, Judge & Gym Mascot

Known around these parts as "No Rep Nonie," Meelo started her career as a house cat. Realizing she was destined for bigger things she set her eyes on Level Method Gym and successfully achieved the title of "Gym Mascot." She's a self taught "Manipulation Expert" and spends her free time day dreaming about food.

Hello, human. Most people know me as Nonie - but if you're one of my many disciples, you’ll know me as “No Rep Nonie.” I am a ruthless upholder of standards, so you’ll know you have a long way to go, you white belt tender foot. Other aliases: Conis, Coney Island, Canonis, Triangle Face, Hunchback, Owny, Ownis, Bonie, Bone. However you choose to address me, know that I am commander of the entire gym and it's people, as well as the Head Judge and Fate Determiner. The main gym floor - upstairs AND downstairs - are all my domain. The window is my portal to relaxation, and your feet are my prey, as I saunter around the room gracefully. Now, pet me! Also, I’d like some food too. Human, are you listening to me!? I must be fed continuously all day, every day. I will surely die if I go an hour without food. All humans must understand - I am a fierce, hunting feline beast as quiet as moon light. And I have an appetite! Food must support my rigorous daily activity of stalking, staring at your face, and imagining clasping a crow in my claws. I am 9 years old and have been doing very well for myself. I feel like a young 3 year old, and I have a two story home with many secret passageways that only I know exist. I have multiple sunrooms and decks that support my naps. And literally mounds of toys that carry the scent of Catnip which only the most refined cats ever have the pleasure of experiencing. Did I mention I have many beds which I enjoy at my leisure? Well, I do. You should have seen my last birthday party, I was showered with gifts. When I’m not roaming, I enjoy listening to Justin Bieber, and my favorite exercise is anything that involves jumping, or laying flat not the ground. Now, please feed me.
